Paragliding Beginning Courses

All students of the Hacettepe Universty can practicipate in our paragliding beginning courses. The course includes 10 hours of theoretical, 3 hours of ground and 10 hours of flight trainings.

In therotical training : Equipment, scructure and parts of the paraglider, protection and mainteance of the paraglider, aerodynamics, launching, flight, control, and landing, air traffic rules, meteorology and emergency cases are taught.

In training on ground ; the would-be pilot is well acquinted with the parachute and he exercises the launching on ground. The tracining goes on till the would-be pilot pulls the canopy correctly.

In flight training ; the aim is to enable the would-be pilot to launch properly and securely, obey the commands during the flight and to land in a correct way according to the rules.
During the begining courses, instructors will decide the meteorological conditions in which the would-be pilots can fly. Launching will be form 50-70 m high under control of the instructor, the flight will be directed by the commands of the instructor under radio supervision and landing will be by the commands of the instructor on ground. The number of commands will gradually be increased according to the progres of the would-be pilot.
A student who has practipated in the paragliding begining courses cannot fly on his own.
Those who have taken the paragliding begining courses can participate in our advanced courses on their will. If they successfully finish these courses, they are declored as club pilots and they can fly with the parachutes of the club without the control of an instructor.

In paragliding anvanced courses ; detailed equipment information, aerodynamics, meteorology, soaring, and thermal flight which enable us to stay a loft for a longer time, detailed emergency courses are given nd thenthe trial flights begin.

Our flight zones : Our flights take place on a will which is located 30km away from Golbasi -Ankara 180m high. İts very suitable for training in terms of both its slope and vast landing zone.
